The Sustainable Communities Act (Unlock Democracy): Last week, The Secretary of State for Local Government Hazel Blears invited local authorities to ‘opt-in’ to the Sustainable Communities Act. Unlock Democracy, together with 54 other organisations, have written to all group leaders and chief executives to urge them to do so and are encouraging the public to write to their councillors. Link: http://www.unlockdemocracy.org.uk/?page_id=537
