Mebyon Kernow (MK) – the Party for Cornwall are putting pressure on David Cameron and Nick Clegg to meet, following the emerging debate about the United Kingdom. They are asking why a petition of 50,000 - the equivalent to 10% of the Cornish adult population - calling for a Cornish assembly has been ignored ignored. Plaid Cymru (the Welsh Nationalist Party) have put forward an early day motion in the House of Commons in support of Cornish devolution.
It has been announced that next month the MPs whose expenses are under investigation will be named. This in line with the moves by the Independenct Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) after the consultation to make the process more transparent and will make the system closer to the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner.
